Privacy Policy

Misnomer Marketing is a one-person fractional CMO practice run by Jeff Lerner through Misnomer LLC, based in Carlsbad, California. This policy covers misnomer.co, its forms, and the free narrative debt assessment. It is short because there is not much to say: I collect what you send me, use it to answer you, and do not sell it.

What I collect

• Contact and speaking forms. Your name, email, company if you give it, and your message. Each submission is stored in the site’s WordPress database and emailed to me.
• The narrative debt assessment. Your name, email, company, website, and your answers. These are used to generate your scored report.
• Client intake forms. Clients I am working with receive private links to onboarding and financial review questionnaires. Answers are stored in WordPress and emailed to me, with a copy to you. While you fill them in, your browser saves a draft on your own device so nothing is lost if the page reloads.
• Booking a call. Calls are booked through Reclaim.ai, which collects your name, email, and chosen time under its own privacy policy.
• Usage data. Google Analytics records standard visit information, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device, and how you arrived. I look at it in aggregate to see what is working on the site.

How I use it

• To reply to you, and to deliver your assessment report.
• To prepare for a call you booked, or for work we agreed to do.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.

I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Email

Completing the assessment sends you one email: your report. You are not added to a mailing list or an automated sequence. I read every submission, and I may write to you personally once about your results. Reply “stop” to that email, or to any email from me, and I will not contact you again. Every email the assessment sends carries an unsubscribe link.

Cookies

The site uses cookies for Google Analytics and for basic functionality. It does not use advertising or retargeting pixels. You can block or clear cookies in your browser, and the site will still work.

Services that process data for me

• WP Engine hosts the website and its database.
• Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, measures site traffic.
• Vercel hosts the assessment tool.
• Anthropic processes assessment answers to generate your report.
• Resend delivers the assessment report email.
• Airtable stores assessment submissions.
• Reclaim.ai handles call booking.

Each processes data on my behalf and under its own security and privacy terms. Links on this site to LinkedIn, Instagram, podcasts, and book retailers go to sites with their own policies.

How long I keep it

Form submissions and assessment results are kept while they are useful for our conversation or our work together, then deleted. Ask me to delete yours sooner and I will.

Your choices

Wherever you live, you can ask me to:

• Tell you what information I hold about you, and send you a copy.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete it.
• Stop emailing you.

Email jeff@misnomer.co and I will respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, form entries sit behind a WordPress login, and the services above encrypt data in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send passwords or payment details through any form on this site.

Children

This site is for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

When the site or the services behind it change, I update this page and the date at the top.
